Yesterday I went to Élan Café in Knightsbridge in London. This place is famous for their delicious bakery and a highly Instagrammable decor. No wonder why this incredibly aesthetically pleasing spot is so popular amongst bloggers and Instagrammers. But is it worth the hype?
I met up with my friend Raina at around 10 AM. We deliberately met fairly early because we wanted to get in before all the crowds come in. Due to it being Thursday morning, the café was almost empty, and we even got the chance to sit by the famous flower wall.
The interior of this place is absolutely stunning, to say the least. It combines everything I love. Flowers, marble, and pink. This place just screams for being taken a shot of and posted on Instagram. The staff, to my surprise, were very friendly and kind. And yes, it did surprise me because that’s not always the case with posh places such as this one. Or is it just me?
Élan Café has a wide variety of foods and drinks to offer, so it took me a while to choose. Eventually, I ordered their Jade alternative latte. According to the menu, it’s basically a Japanese matcha green tea. It was incredibly delicious even though it was too sweet for my liking. But that’s just a personal preference. Raina got their Saffron alternative latte. You can get them either with or without coffee. We both opted for a version without coffee.
And then for brunch, I picked their Acai bowl. It comes with banana, passion fruit, blueberries, goji berries, coconut, gluten-free granola, edible flowers, and a sprinkle of poppy seeds. Let me tell you, this bowl of goodness was the best Acai bowl I’ve ever eaten.
In terms of prices, as you would expect, this place is expensive. The Acai bowl cost over 8 GPB and the Jade latte was 6 GPB. But in my opinion, it was worth it as a treat. I loved this place, and I would definitely come back even just for the Acai bowl.
And that’s all I have for this review. I’ve never reviewed a café before so let me know what you think in the comments down below! Also, have you ever been to this café? What were your thoughts? Let me know!
See you soon!
xoxo, S. V.
