Hello everyone!

I think it’s very important to be cautious about what we put on our skin, and keep the skincare products as natural as we possibly can because our skin behaves like a sponge and absorbs everything we apply on it. And for this reason, I thought I would walk you through my natural skin care routine. My skin care routine is simple and calls for only a few products. Let’s get into it!

Evening Routine

Step no. I: Makeup Removal

Before I use any product to remove my makeup, I simply rinse my face with lukewarm water. This helps to melt the products, so they are easier to remove. Then I leave my face wet while I’m applying coconut oil. It’s a great makeup remover that doesn’t leave anything behind. I use the cold-pressed coconut oil from Coco Vita. When all of the products on my face are melted, I wipe them off with a wet wipe.

Step no. II: Facial Scrub

I do this particular step only once a week or when my skin looks dull, and obviously calls for a deeper cleanse. If I do scrub my face, I don’t apply too much pressure and apply it only with light circular movements, and wash it off with lukewarm water. I use this Purifying Face Scrub by Botanics from their All Bright range.

Step no. III: Foam Wash

After I scrubbed the dead skin cells of off my face, I cleanse whatever is left behind with my Cleansing Foam Wash also from Botanics. As opposed to the facial scrub, I never skip this step.

Step no. IV: Toner

After I wash off the foam cleanser and pat my skin dry, I spray it with a light shower of rose water my Mount Purious. It tones my skin, and I feel like this simple step has the greatest impact on my face. It leaves my skin soft and silky.

Step no. V: Moisturiser

As a moisturizer, I use aloe vera gel. It’s super light-weight and you don’t need too much of it. The size of a pea is all I need for my entire face. I use this one by Aloe Pura which I buy in Superdrug, but you can use the gel straight out of the plant.

Step no. VI: Facial Oil

My skin is super dry, especially around the corners of my mouth. To help to reduce any dry patches, I apply a bit of this Botanics Facial Oil with rosehip on them.

Morning Routine

My morning skincare routine is even more straightforward. In the morning, I simply rinse my face with lukewarm water. Then I spray it with the rose water and apply the aloe vera gel. It also acts as a great makeup primer.

In my opinion, when it comes to skincare, less is more. Therefore, I use as little products as I can. I strongly believe that the appearance of my skin depends on what I put into my body. So if you want to know how I cleaned up my diet, you can have a look here.

And that’s all I have for this blog post. I hope you enjoyed!

See you soon!

xoxo, S. V.

Hi Sara! Your skincare routine is so similar to mine! Loved this post. I agree it’s important to take care of ourselves by not putting on too many chemicals on our skin.
